Hell’s Rebels Session 8 – Pulling teeth

Present: Quill Venger (Gaz), Soldar Dawnbrace (Ben), Umo Ankora (James)

With Zathras’ lifeless body the party return to the Wasp’s Nest and spend several days in mourning. Quill has an armoury made at the HQ and sets to upgrading his firearm, crafting ammunition and stockpiling gunpowder.

Forvian Crowe returns with a few of his old company.

Dottari visit Longroad’s Coffee House investigating suspicious activity. One of the recent halfling recruits, Soldar, helps Quill and Umo draw attention out of the coffee house and vanquish the Dottari. One guard is left alive to report the misinformation Quill shared and throw off the Dottari’s lead. He gives Laria 50gp for the inconvenience and damage.

Soldar shares that he is a former slip who belonged to the Hanson family, he blames Barzillai for the death of his brother Pendar.

After hearing some rumours from Rexus the party head to Clenchjaw’s tavern to investigate the frequent brawls there. Quill enjoys knocking back whiskey and throwing punches whilst Umo leads the investigations.

A pseudogragon, Vendalfelk, is responsible for the disturbances. The party win him over and invite him to live in the Wasp’s Nest, suggesting he may be able to help them out in future.

On their way back to HQ through the sewers the party come across a group of Tieflings calling themselves the Forsaken lead by a man named Kadis. They have fled the Devil’s Nursery due to the increased tensions and recent spate of deaths.

The heros convince them to help the party investigate the murders. In the Devil’s Nursery some red-cloaked Tieflings amassed behind a coward named Strife try to bar the party’s entrance but they are cowed and Kadis introduces the party to Zea.

Zea helps the party find the sites of the previous murders and tells them what she knows. In an attempt to lure the killer out they set up Umo as a decoy. The decoy is succesful and during the night Umo is attacked by Tooth Fairys. He and Quill quickly fell two and the party follow the remainders who flee back to their lair. The battle is one-sided but both Quill and Sol have teeth extracted in the fray.

Having vanquished the evil fey the party find the corpse of a tiefling child bound in cold iron chains and thick sinews inscribed with unreadable phrases. They return the body to Zea and Kadis to lay to rest.
