Present: Dwali Fletcher (Dave), Quill Venger (Gaz), Soldar Dawnbrace (Ben), Umo Ankora (James)
The party rest after the excitement in the Devil’s Nursery, Quill and Soldar still smarting from the extractions made by the Tooth Fairies. Dwali had been off following leads on his father’s whereabouts. He had heard rumour of an unsanctioned excruciation, a doghousing, taking place in a pagoda in Aria Park. The party set out to investigate and find the tranquil park scene violated by two mistreat mastiff’s and four members of the Chellish Citizen’s Group guarding a dog kennel lined with nails, in which an malnourished man rests awkwardly.
The party flank the pagoda, ignoring the threats from the thugs, and combat is joined. Despite a lack of tactical unity the party easily win the day and, contrary to their custom, leave no survivors of the conflict.
The happy reunion of Dwali and his father Bowmer is cut short by the need to flee this very public place. The party take to the sewers to return to the Wasp’s Nest. As he scouts ahead Sol spies red glowing eyes in the darkness watching him.
The party are split up, Dwali and Quill hanging back with Bowmer whilst Umo and Sol investigate. The two groups are set upon by Ghouls. Despite the disadvantages of separation and darkness the party vanquish the undead scavengers and make haste to HQ.
At the Wasp’s Nest they request Boudra’s aid with Bowmer, as she has shown aptitude with medicines. She tends to Fletcher senior and answers the party’s questions about the ghouls and the evolving ecology of the sewers.
A visitor to Longroad’s Coffee House requests an appointment with Quill. Quill gets the scoop from Laria, rewarding her with a kiss on the cheek, before sitting down with Bahram Xaxun of Alkenstar flanked by Sol and Umo. Alkenstar are the only place in all of Golarion who mass-produce firearms and Bahram, currently stranded in Kintargo, is curious about the enigmatic rebel who carries such a weapon.
Quill reveals that he was taught the craft by an acquaintance but is unwilling to share the man’s name, stating he left town long ago anyway. Bahram’s inquiry gave Quill an uneasy impression. The Alkenstar representative offered to allow Quill access to his limited stock in exchange for the information and informed the party he’s staying at an inn named the Quilted Pillow.
Back downstairs the party discuss what they have learned. Soldar is keen to try and extract the Ghoul’s poison for his own ends but Umo is uneasy with making weapons of the undead. Quill is more worried about how easy the rescue felt, considering whether it may have been a trap of some kind.
The party also discuss how to proceed with their rebellion, Quill is emphatic that his goal is to defeat Barzillai and restore the former government to power.
As they discuss things Umo notices a man is listening in and not being as subtle about it as he thinks. Umo grabs him and drags him in to the party’s midst…
