Adventure
Having been felled by the apparition Sylvester tumbles through darkness for an inordinate amount of time and meets a being who’s willing to give him his third chance at life. The being empowered his only true friend, Stuart the mouse, to act as a medium for their communication.
Whilst Brann took Deanna to the Ettin’s Den for rest, Tenoch and Ethan went by the mortician’s shop to look for Sylvester. They saw only his pack in the building and fled when the apparition revealed itself.
At the Ettin’s Den the party all gather and find a distracted Imlit the Pink is awaiting them. After much discussion on what happened to Sylvester, what they’ve learned and how they might best help Tolm the party resolve to rest for the evening, vanquish the apparition, find more information on the Gloam and then head into the Gloam to seek the Abductor.
As the party retired Tenoch spends a few moments in discussion with Imlit the Pink. She reveals that she is saddened to have recently heard of the loss of her friend, a member of the order of judges who reside over cases at extreme scales of lawlessness and pass judgement on great evils, such as those who attempt to conquer worlds. All she knows is that her friend didn’t die of natural causes and she intends to find out what the true cause was. Tenoch offers his aid (and the party’s) if she should need it.
The following morning the well rested party are inspired by Deanna’s words before returning to the mortician’s shop with some healing potions and scrolls of magic weapon courtesy of Imlit the Pink. Brann’s weapon is enchanted before the party head in and tackle the apparition. The party are victorious, thanks in no small part to two critical hits from Brann, but at the cost of Deanna’s vitality — she is aged a further 40 years putting her well past the life expectancy of a human…
The party search the shop for items that could help Deanna, finding only some items of relatively small worth and Argus’ arcane focus – a rune inscribed and gold-banded ulna. They head to the paired churches in Tolm and bring the aged cleric of agriculture, Chelry, to the mortician’s shop in the hopes he can aid Deanna. Chelry at first thinks this is a prank with one of the corpses. He’s saddened when he learns that this isn’t the case and worse, he’s unable to help Deanna.
After putting their heads together the party resolve, against Deanna’s protestations, to enter the Gloam and hope to travel to Solemburg and find some method to cure Deanna before it’s too late. Hoping that the rumoured time dilation effects of the Gloam will enable them to find a cure before the rapid ageing process takes its final toll.
