S&S 12: Hail Mary

Our party are:
  • Corwin: a curious fellow and agent of old Bes
  • Hector: a former slave with a painted face who wields magic through his poppet
  • Montague: a dashing young fellow with a romantic notion of life at sea
  • Ole Yardley: a crazed old sailor who looks and smells like he should be dead
  • William: a man of means with a taste for the sweet life

With Hector having used negative energies to restore Ole Yardley the two of them follow the rest of the party and observe them bumbling into the Ghoul’s den. Hector summons a Fiendish Pony and sends it into the encampment as a distraction for the Ship’s Whores.
Yardley and Hector follow the pony into the fray and draw the Ship’s Whore’s attention away from their wounded and paralysed allies.

As Billy and Yardley attack the Ship’s Whores Hector is able to turn one of the creatures to their cause with his Bonethrall power, commanding it to attack the Ship’s Whore which has paralysed and seems likely to kill Billy.

The tide is turned and the party vanquish the Ship’s Whores, thanks to Hector’s strategy and magic and the martial might of Ole Yardley none of their crew mates face what seemed like an inevitable demise.

Corwin tends to the wounds of his injured allies with medicine and magic, whilst Hector finds a stash of loot inside the tent. The party opt to rest in the nightmarish campsite and in the morning Corwin provides further ministrations before the party continue on their way.

Exiting the swamp after another mile or so the party reach the island interior where they are able to see a beach with palm trees lining the Eastern shore. Spotting coconuts they head over and begin collecting much needed supplies for the ship when a giant crab descends on them, pincers clacking. The rested pirates make short work of the creature, yet opt to avoid the possibility of more crab attacks at this time and leave any further coconuts behind, taking note to return for the carcas and a large supply of crab meat before they head back to the Man’s Promise.

What other dangers does the island have in store? Will the party find their missing crew mates?
